Offseason Sim #8: The Frozen Tundra of January
After the deals of January comes the long ice age of February. Following the four deals of this sim are these free agent signings:
Stockholm had big signing of LF Robert McCree to a 5 year deal worth $13.25MM.
Marietta had a smaller deal signing SP Steven Page to a 2 year deal worth $7.4MM.
Keep that hot stove league steaming! Next sim is Wednesday by Mack. He’ll take us to mid-February!

The New York Knights are a menace to themselves off the field We previously had “Squirrel-Bait” Kirby’s misadventure. Now, Salomon Tavarez is “injured after walking into a tree while talking on his cell phone,” suffering a bruised wrist.
Simply classic.
So the mystery franchise that Scott Boris has been talking about in the Hodgin sweepstakes had finally stepped up and show itself…let the games begin.
It’s getting late in the offseason and, with the aggressive sim schedule we have, it will be interesting to see how much time there is for counteroffers before Hodgin simply accepts the best offer on the table.
The one thing that is sure is that Pittsburgh will get a high draft pick out of all this…
Not if Eric wins the bidding. He’s only got a third round pick and higher left to lose.
So, uh, go Jeremy!
There might be a third (or 4th) team in the bidding. You never know…
Sure wish my trainer had higher “heals moronic injuries” rating. Mandatory new offseason equipment being issued to Knights players: hands-free devices.
It looks like Tavarez is just injury prone. At the end of last season he injured himself slipping on wet grass during practice. Good times.
