I would like to call up my 1B prospect David Vidal in the next sim, and I find myself with too many players on my active roster. The following players are available for trade, at varying prices:
1B/OF Winifred Kiser
2B/OF Jose Santiago
OF John Fine
CF Brady Morris
OF Benito Parra
I am looking for draft picks and/or prospects in return. Email any offers to guitar_shark@hotmail.com.

Just a word of warning so that no one else makes the same stupid mistake I made. I signed AAA sucky pitcher Steven Pacheco to a minor league contract a couple of sims ago, without realizing that the game deemed him worthy of Type A status. Never in a million years would it have occurred to me that a player who says ”I will accept a minor league contract” when asked is actually a Type A free agent. That’s the way the ball bounces in Miami, the home of playoff (and now free agency) disappointment. The Seattle Pilots have benefitted from my stupidity by acquiring Miami’s first round pick. Gah.
Don’t make my mistake!

Miami and Seattle agreed today to swap two players who were once believed to have great potential but have failed, thus far, to live up to that potential. Both teams are optimistic that a change of scenery will help the players.
The deal, which is unlikely to significantly affect any of the division or wildcard races, will send one of Miami’s AAA pitchers, SP James Lineberry, to Seattle in exchange for major league reserve infielder Agustin Moreno.

Hey guys,
I got an email from my 2B Edward Redding saying he wants to be in the starting lineup on a daily basis, which isn’t going to happen on my team. If anyone wants him, send me an offer! He is signed to a very reasonable contract (with a mutual option at the end of this year), and he had a .401 OBP last year. He is also an “extremely popular” player, which will do wonders for your fan interest.

I have more pitching than I realistically need right now, so if you are short on arms, send me an offer. Among the pitchers I am willing to deal are the following:
SP Guille Alvarado
SP James Lineberry
SP Claude Guzman
SP William Richins
MR Wesley Savage (I will agree to eat most of his salary)
MR Randy Wagner
I am looking for draft picks and/or prospects in return. Let me know!

The Miami Masters of Their Domain upgraded their starting rotation today in a deadline deal with the Maryland Poedamnedmonium.
In the deal, Miami receives veteran starter Lewis McGurk in exchange for SP Devin Largent, AAA OF Rudolph Fu, and Miami’s 3rd round pick in next year’s amateur draft.

The race for the wild card in the Platonic League took an interesting turn today, as the Miami Masters of Their Domain have acquired 24-year-old shortstop Ben “Sugar” Towell, one of the premier infielders in the game, from the 2007 World Champion Stockholm Sluggers. “We are absolutely thrilled to be adding a superstar talent like Ben to our roster,” Miami GM Matt Macario said. “He is the complete package, both at the plate and in the field. We’ve been struggling defensively in the infield, and we also haven’t been giving our excellent pitching staff enough run support on a consistent basis, so he should be a big help as we make our playoff push.”
However, Towell may be in for a bit of a surprise when he arrives in Miami. “Some of the guys in the clubhouse have already started talking about getting him a new nickname,” Macario laughed. “I mean, the guy has a sweet swing and all, but ‘Sugar’? Surely we can come up with something more befitting a power hitter. Heck, I call my 1-year-old daughter Sugar sometimes. Something’s got to give.”
Towell did not come cheaply, however. Three of Miami’s most promising prospects are heading across the Atlantic to Stockholm: SP Michael Pellerin, MR John Roll, and SS Paul Lechner*. Stockholm will also receive Miami’s 2nd round pick in next year’s amateur draft as part of the deal, giving Stockholm cause for optimism in its quest to win a championship in 2007 and beyond.
* Pending word from the commissioner’s office on whether this injured player can be traded. If he cannot, barring unforeseen developments**, Lechner will be traded to Stockholm in 2007 for a PTBNL.
** In the event of said unforeseen developments, the general managers for Stockholm and Miami will throw rocks at one another until the dispute is resolved.

Miami Masters of Their Domain GM Matt Macario announced today that reserve outfielder Cary Buteau has been dealt to the Gainesville Purple Porpoises for Gainesville’s 7th round pick in the 2006 amateur draft. “I look forward to acquiring a random 0.5* player in exchange for Cary,” Macario said tersely. “What is up with these crappy draft classes, anyway?”
In happier news, Miami fans will be thrilled to learn that Buteau’s roster spot will be filled by top outfield prospect Richard “Wedge” Vuong, who is said to be “voraciously” looking forward to his new role on the major league club. Vuong, acquired in a trade with the 2006 World Champion Stockholm Sluggers (TM)* last year, is rated as the #8 prospect in the league by the notoriously unreliable OSA.
* Stockholm counting on second half surge

I’ve got a surplus of good relievers in AAA and at the ML level. If you are looking to strengthen your bullpen, or to restock your AAA talent, make me an offer! The only relievers that are completely untouchable are Carner and Su.
Next, how about a young catcher who can also play 1B? Check out John Ange. He’s gotten off to a slow start this year as my backup catcher, but my scout says he has 4.5* potential. He had a season-long injury a couple of years ago that set back his development a bit, but he should be pretty good.
Finally, I am looking to trade one of my backup outfielders – Cary Buteau or Willy May. Buteau had an .831 OPS last year and has a power rating of 65, so he has considerable pop, particularly against lefties. May is an excellent defender and base stealer. Both of them are cheap, and they are both also eligible for all outfield positions. Either of them would make a good bench option or 25th man for the right team.
Let me know if you have any interest! I am looking for draft picks or prospects in return.
