I’ve got like a dozen OFs at AAA, so probably should move one or more. The most appealing are 2.5-3* Luis Chace and Joseph Prosperie (who also plays 2B), and 2* Samuel Torre. All should be in the big leagues somewhere. Send me an e-mail if you’re interested. A pick or middling prospect is all I’d be looking for in return.

Pittsburgh and New York swapped a few draft picks today, with the Pisces sending A SS Ethan Laing and their 2008 5th round pick and 2009 1st round picks to the Knights in exchange for New York’s first and second round picks in the 2008 draft.

In a wholly unexciting deal today, Pittsburgh sent AAA MR prospect Benjamin McGregor to New York in exchange for A IF prospect John “Captain” Morgan. New York hopes McGregor will help bolster the Knights’ bullpen this year and in the future, while the Pisces acquire a former University of Washington Husky standout in the versatile Morgan.

Stockholm today jettisoned their once-mighty, now humbled 1B Albert Ramer in a trade with the New York Knights. Stockholm received A SP Fredrick Berggren and AAA OF Robert Arciniega in exchange for Ramer, whose batting average barely reached the Mendoza line last year. Relegated to the bench in Stockholm, Ramer has been hounded by rumors of steroid abuse as the former slugger’s production plummeted after mandatory testing was instituted in the OEL before last season. His once chiseled physique now a distant memory, Ramer was reportedly hurt by the repeated catcalls of “Fat Albert” from the normally reserved and polite Swedish fan base. New York hopes a change of scenery (as well as their new “trainer”) will help Ramer regain his old form. For their part, Stockholm picks up two prospects and leaves 1B in the hands of up-and-comer Caroll Pinon.

1B Antonia Alicea is a nice backup 1B/pinch hitter and can be had cheaply. He’s struggled so far this year but has very respectable batting ratings and a cheap contract for the remainder of the year and a team option. A marginal prospect is all it would take to get him as I want to make room for a AAA 1B of mine.
OF Bill Waite is also available, as is SS Alfonso Reyes (who is having a monster year) at the right price.
Send me an email if you’re interested in any of these fine fellows.

Promising C Brian Micco is stuck behind William “The Whammer” Byrd in the 2005 World Champion New York Knights’ lineup. Micco, 25, posted an .OPS of over .900 last season and has been productive in the early going this season.
I also have a catching prospect at AAA in Edgar Klingbeil, who himself is presently blocked by Byrd and Micco.
Send me an e-mail if you’re interested in an upgrade behind the plate with either of these players.

Superstar IF Alfonso Reyes is on the block, as I’m trying to make room for playing time for former #1 pick Eric Guglielmo. The popular Reyes has been one of the best hitters in the OEL for years and can play 2B, SS, or 3B. I’d be looking for a prospect or pick in exchange, or a 1B. Shoot me an e-mail if you have any interest. If taking on salary would be a problem, don’t let it be as I’m sure we can address it.

The Mountain Indians today undertook to supplement their depleted roster by acquiring a bevy of players from the New York Knights. Ramapough acquired 1B Patrick Layfield, SP Emery Stalter, MR Scott Monsen, SS Bill Aiello, and C Richard Pendelton from the Knights in exchange for a 10th round pick in next June’s draft. In acquiring these players, Ramapough hopes to replace numerous departing free agents and plug some holes on its roster without mortgaging its rebuilding efforts. For its part, New York shed two smallish, but not insubstantial contracts in dealing the once-mighty, now-not-very-mighty Stalter and Monsen.

Karl Brooks tore it up in AAA last season with a .923 OPS. He’s also a great fielder and base stealer. If you’re looking for an OF, Brooks could be your man. Send me an e-mail if you’re interested.

The Seattle Pilots acquired SP Trevor Canela from the New York Knights in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in next year’s draft. Canela had barely wiped the tears from his face following the Knights’ Game 7 loss to Pittsburgh in the OEL World Series before being informed of the news.
